(1) 特定の意図された用途や適用についての要求が満たされているかどうかを、`客観的証拠`を準備して確認すること。[SSE] (2) ソフトウェアと関連する製品が、各ライフサイクルの活動の終わりにソフトウェアに割り付けられるシステム要求を満たしていること、正しい問題を解決していること、意図された用途とユーザーニーズを満たしていることの証拠(エビデンス)を提供するプロセス。[SSVV] (3) ライフサイクルのコンテキストにおいては、システムが意図された用途、ゴール、目的を達成できるかどうかの信頼性を確保するための活動の集合。[SSE] (4) 開発プロセスの途中や終わりに、システムやコンポーネントが`特定された要件`を満たしているか判定するために、システムやコンポーネントを評価するプロセス。[DSRS] (5) 製品、サービス、システムが顧客や他の識別された利害関係者のニーズに合致しているかを保証すること。外部顧客での受け入れや合目的性を含むことが多い。[PMBOK] ※妥当性確認は、ユーザーが特定のタスクとしてシステムを利用できることを証明することである。対応のステータスを「妥当性確認された」と呼んでいる。 ※設計と開発においては、妥当性確認はユーザーニーズに合致しているかどうか判定するために製品を試験するプロセスに関わっている。妥当性確認は、通常、最終製品に対して、定義された運用条件のもとで実施される。早い段階から実施する必要があるかもしれない。多重の妥当性確認は、意図された用途に相違がある場合にもうまく適用できるだろう。 (1) confirmation, through the provision of `objective evidence`, that the requirements for a specific intended use or application have been fulfilled. [SSVV] (3) In a lifecycle context, the set of activities ensuring and gaining confidence that a system is able to accomplish its intended use, goals and objectives. [SSE] (4) the process of evaluating a system or component during or at the end of the development process to determine whether a system or component satisfies `specified requirement`s. [DSRS] (5) the assurance that a product, service, or system meets the needs of the customer and other identified stakeholders. It often involves acceptance and `suitability` with external customers. [PMBOK] Note: Validation demonstrates that the system can be used by the users for their specific tasks. "Validated" is used to designate the corresponding status. [ISO9000:2005] In design and development, validation concerns the process of examining a product to determine conformity with user needs. Validation is normally performed on the final product under defined operating conditions. It may be necessary in earlier stages. Multiple validations may be carried out if there are different intended uses. See also: `verification`.

(ST) 新しい、または変更されたITサービス、プロセス、計画、その他の成果物が事業体のニーズを満たしていることを確認する活動。妥当性確認では、元の設計から事業要件が変更されていても、その事業要件が満たされるようにする。 (ST) An Activity that ensures a new or changed IT Service, Process, Plan, or other Deliverable meets the needs of the Business. Validation ensures that Business Requirements are met even though these may have changed since the original Design.
